Use this fractions worksheet as guided/independent practice, homework or assign as an exit slip/ticket to assess student mastery. You can also use it for small groups, review and remediation, or tutoring.
The worksheet begins with a mini-lesson on using fractions to describe whole numbers, followed by 5 simulated test questions. The word problems require students to express whole numbers as fractions (and vice versa), and draw a visual model to represent an improper fraction (e.g. 7/2). It contains tips and scaffolding for students who need the help, but it can be printed without the assistance.
