CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Sunday inaugurated a 24x7 customer care cell- -Minnagam -- at Tangedco headquarters to address consumer grievances. Public can register their grievances by calling the 24 x 7 helpline number – 9498794987.
According to an official release, the customer care cell will have 195 people working in three shifts to attend to consumer complaints.
Each shift will have 65 staff registering all electricity related complaints in the database, which will then be forwarded to the concerned superintending engineer and other engineers through WhatsApp.
A separate division comprising three staff will collate all complaints and action taken has also been appointed in each of the offices of 44 superintending engineers across the state.
An SMS will be sent to the consumer after the grievance is addressed.
The chief minister also launched a social media cell for Tangedco which would monitor the grievances related to electricity addressed through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
